Hannah is a mess, and the story is heartbreakingly wonderful. Two people, whose trust has been destroyed by those they loved and trusted, find each other. The issue is that they are so full of self-doubt that they constantly sabotage themselves. Hannah’s imagination knows no limits—I swear, at one point, she imagined Gabe with a harem. The bucket list from Libby was a fresh concept (to me, at least) and it made the read even more enjoyable. Having the energy of Libby, her best friend, by her side, encouraging her to rediscover herself and reclaim her life, made me want to shed happy tears. The evolution of Hannah’s character was remarkable. She is finding—or rather, relearning—herself without even realizing it. She is reconnecting with the parts of herself that she had hidden away after her heart was broken. Then we have Gabe. This dynamic duo knows how to write a male protagonist who you can’t help but fall in love with. He’s a brother to six sisters, a vet, and an all-around sweetheart. The sibling relationships are so engaging that, although they are secondary characters, they steal the show – which brings me to Tonya’s subplot (Gabe’s blind date, set up by one of his sisters). There are no words for his moments with her. Comical gold! Having read the third book in this series first, I can’t wait to dive into the second, but it’s “Dear Pink” that starts it all. Get ready to fall head over heels for the Russo family!
