Mini Review:
For the record, despite Lauren putting it EVERYWHERE, I did NOT know this was a two-part (duet) book, so I was one unhappy camper when I got to the end and realized there was a second book. That being said, I was all in! I loved every single thing about this duet. The slow burn, the quagmire they faced, the separation and reunion, and even the break-up that created the second book were devastating but understandable.
What I think I enjoyed most was how Jude and TJ seemed to be constantly playing these confident roles they envisioned for themselves. But when they dropped the acting and allowed themselves to be real and vulnerable with each other – those were the moments that hooked the reader. You wanted it to work out. You rooted for them. But you also supported every decision they made because you felt like you truly understood them – their fears, their reasons, and their need to protect themselves, even when it broke your heart.
