Book #5 in a 6 Book Series
Book Summary:

When I see the ad in the Portland Alternative’s “Love Wanted” section, I can’t resist the urge to respond. Yes, it’s dangerous—as a star forward for the Badgers I have a reputation to protect—but I miss the thrill of calling the shots in the bedroom and reading that ad is the first time I’ve laughed in months.
So I reach out to Curious Cat about the “educational” opportunity…
A few sizzling—and hysterical—emails later we arrange to meet. I’m hoping we’ll have chemistry, and I might finally be on my way to getting over my ex-girlfriend.
And then the gate to the beer garden swings open and in walks Hailey.
My ex is Curious Cat, and this experiment just got a hell of a lot more complicated.
But I never back down from a challenge—on or off the ice.
I keep my educational offer on the table—six weeks of submissive lessons. Six weeks to learn how to drive a Dominant man crazy, and then we part ways as friends.
What do I have to lose? Except what’s left of my heart?
Mini Review:
Ok first I have to warn you that there is a very detailed, cringe-worthy injury in this book. No one warned me and I was not prepared for it so consider yourself on notice! Other than that, this book is absolutely perfect for those who are either really into the dom/sub scene or those who are completely clueless and with the knowledge dropped between these pages, will definitely know if they want to take the path of further exploration or can give a resounding “No thanks!” with the utmost confidence.
We are indirectly introduced to Will and Hailey in the two previous books. In Book 3, they are happily together and Book 4 they have broken up and we are reintroduced to a very lovesick Will. This book picks up a year after that breakup.
While Will admits he could never love another woman like he loved Hailey, he knows he needs to move on and decides to dive back into the dark world he gave up for the love of his life. Apparently fate has a wicked sense of humor as the ad he answers from a woman wanting to learn more about the dom/sub roles turns out to be his ex!
From there, the books focuses primary on the lessons Will agrees to give Hailey. The catch 20/20, he is still deeply in love with her, even if it appears she has moved on. He has to figure out how to keep his heart out of it as he shows her the more wicked side of intimacy.
As mentioned before, this was definitely more of an education book than anything else. The spicy scenes were true to their word for the dom/sub universe but Valente also takes the opportunity to address misconceptions that society may have about those who enjoy the dom/sub lifestyle. She uses Hailey as a vessel to share extraordinary viewpoints about strength, triumph, overcoming obstacles, and surviving as a woman in this world.
Will definitely say this is yet another much read in this series and the last chapter lead in to Book six is absolutely hilarious!
