Sergeant Sexypants

A 2019 RITA Award Finalist

Book Summary:

Bree Bracelyn doesn’t date cops. That’s a problem, since I am one. Also, I might be in love with her.

But Bree’s got a secret I can’t figure out. Most folks lace up their goody two-shoes around cops, but Bree’s don’t fit quite right. There’s a story there, but she’s guarding it like a tiger with a pet zebra.

And yeah, I know the guy jockeying for police chief should steer clear of a woman with skeletons in her closet, but I can’t stay away. I’ll find any excuse to visit the resort she owns with her siblings, even trotting out my charming pup, Virginia Woof. I’m not proud.

Between hot springs hookups and grope-fests in my car, Bree’s breaking her no-cops rule six ways to Sunday, and I’m grateful. But what’ll it take to coax out her secret and convince her I’m not here to slap the cuffs on her? Not unless she asks me to.

Mini Review:

Having played such an important role in Amber and Jade’s story, I really wanted Bree to have a HEA. I am grateful Fenske didn’t make me wait long as her story was in Book #3. While each story in a standalone, it does happen in chronological order. In Book #2, the luxury resort was still getting set up with a launch date in the future but buzz already building. In Book #3, we join the VIPs in town as they attend a soiree at the resort, in preparation of its opening. Gearing up for an influencer weekend to help build even more buzz before the grand opening, Bree has her hands tied. The last thing she needs is the distraction from the man in blue, a gorgeous police officer with quick wit and charm that she made at their town event. Having a rule against dating police officers, Bree tries her best to resist his charms but he plays dirty when he introduces Virginia – his coyote/dog mix. Try as she might, she just can’t stay away from Austin but the secrets of her past make any future with him impossible. Like the two books before it, this book is also a mixture of humor, drama, and a down right dark and soul crushing past. This book went a lot deeper than the rest, moving away from the humor towards the end but focusing on a very important message about healing.
