Tamed to Be Messy

Book #1 of a 3 Book Series

Book Summary:

He’s always played the field. But when an off-limits beauty is running his rehab, will this injured beach patrol hero flee or swim to friendly shores?

My life used to have meaning. Born with a silver spoon in my mouth I quickly spat out, I defied my parents, dropped out of law school, and became a lifeguard. What can I say? I love the surf, the sand, and helping others.

But that was before the accident.

My rotator cuff is torn so badly I may have to quit the career that gives me so much joy. I’ve got a grueling rehabilitation ahead of me with no guarantee it will be successful. Good thing my physical therapist is amazing. Not only has she promised me a return to full range of motion, she’s easy on the eyes, making the painful exercises worth it. There’s just one problem:

She’s my best friend’s kid sister.

Mini Review:

This sweet, wholesome, humorous journey from best friend’s sister to coupledom was an absolute joy to read. Hannah embodies “girl power”; she is strong, independent, fierce, and can hold her own against her two very overprotective brothers. She doesn’t back down from a challenge, and while she may have hearts in her eyes for a certain lifeguard, she doesn’t wear it on her sleeve, especially after what happened with her ex-boyfriend Brian. Nick is the swoon-worthy, injured hero who resembles the puppy dogs Hannah is used to rehabilitating. You can’t help but root for Nick from the beginning to get back to his passion. Through the course of the story, we learn there is more to Nick than initially let on. We also know the issues of the past are hurting the prospects of his future, whether it is the relationship with his parents or how he is handling his feelings for Hannah. Mixed into this zany story is a gut-wrenching tale about Bandit, a poor abused dog that Hannah is determined to rescue, and who she also believes will help save Nick from himself. Add in Graham, Liam, and Madi and we have a beautiful cornucopia of love, laughter, friendship, and family. For those who just want a feel-good, clean romance (and I mean squeaky clean – even the word “heckish” was used!) with a great mix of banter, a dash of suspense, and all the sweet moments a reformed rake-like character can muster, I highly recommend “Tamed to Be Messy.”
