Asking for a Friend

Book #1 of a 5 Book Series

Book Summary:

I was only trying to help a friend. I swear. I was legit asking for a friend who was finally ready to date again.

I knew what she wanted in a man — smart, funny, ambitious, well-read (no, the sports section doesn’t count), and plays a wicked game of badminton.

So I did what any good friend would do. Posted it for her. It seemed like a good idea at the time — I’d weed through the candidates, and bring her my top picks.

But then he responded.

Is it wrong to date the guy I screened for my bestie? Not asking for a friend.

Mini Review:

Asking For a Friend shows you what happens when a friend (with the best intentions, mind you) tries to find that special someone for her broken-hearted best friend, only to hit the Jackpot and find the man of her own dreams.

I will admit, I wasn’t the biggest fan of this book. I just couldn’t get into it and the characters were far too prestigious for my taste. There were moments where I did find the book funny (especially the banter); however, I constantly felt like the third party hanging out with a group of friends that had known each other forever. I also felt like the character development was lacking (which contributed to the disconnect). During their “get to know you” times – we did learn about them and their hobbies but most of it felt surface-level and superficial. I absolutely love Lauren Blakely but this is one I probably wouldn’t recommend.
